“We’ve fallen in love with Tallulah Swirls”
Just So Festival 2011
Amy Lloyd-Jones, Director of Tallulah Swirls, discovered long ago that performance and puppetry provided a platform for satisfying all her talents as visual artist, maker and storyteller.
She has performed in theatres and schools, museums, libraries, festivals and many other venues inside and outside, covering the West Country and beyond.
She makes all her own puppets and props, and regularily inspired by her two sons, writes her own stories and scripts.
There is always a slightly twisted humor to Amy’s work, a big dollop of mischief and a refusal to talk down to children. She always intrigues, and she always keeps you on your toes.
Amy has created several new immersive Shadow Puppet Performances (Mexican Day Of The Dead, Mayan Creation Story, Fisherman And The Genie). They are often accompanied by marvelous puppet making and storytelling workshops.
Yippeeeee…It’s When Eggy Met Peggy
Encouragement from Theatre Bristol/Puppet Place and funding from Unlimited and River Cottage HQ, allowed Amy the time and resources to turn ambitious ideas into reality…
“Amy’s disarming charm and oddball humour totally captivated the inner child of every adult in the packed theatre”
Chris Pirie, Director of Green Ginger & Bristol Festival Of Puppetry 2011
“After giggling throughout a performance I was determined to book the brilliant When Eggy Met Peggy for the Electric Palace” Gabrielle Rabbitts, Electric Palace Theatre, Bridport, Dorset

that both adults and children could get equal enjoyment out of a puppet theatre.”
Rachel Griffin, illustrator/parent, Childrens World Festival, Bristol
“There is no way our ‘Nursery and Reception story evening’ would have been half as fun without you. The children had a blast…staff all agreed that your show was of the highest quality”
Karl Hemmings, Beacon Rise Primary School, Bristol
“A sparkling performance in every way – superb visually, great sound effects and the range of characters and voices was breathtaking, especially for a one woman show!”
Kathleen Smith, Topping & Company Booksellers Of Bath, ‘Events Organizer Of The Year’
“Tallulah Swirls brought a playful and handmade energy to the puppet theatre for our area at Camp Bestival… The shows delivered powerful messages through fun and laughter. Amy and her team were a delight to work with and would be invited back whenever possible.”
