“We’ve fallen in love with Tallulah Swirls”
Organisers of Just So Festival

Amy Lloyd-Jones, Director of Tallulah Swirls, discovered long ago that performance and puppetry provided a platform for satisfying all her talents as a dynamic visual artist, maker and storyteller.
She performs in theatres and schools, museums, libraries, festivals and many other venues inside and outside, covering the West Country and beyond.

She handcrafts the majority of the puppets and props created for her own productions and also accepts commissions.

Amy delights in mixing humour and sensitivity into her work, a big dollop of mischief and a refusal to talk down to children. She always intrigues, and she always keeps you on your toes.

“A beautiful celebration of creativity, remembering loved ones and the vibrancy of The Mexican Day Of The Dead. Such an inventive show and so wonderful to see the creativity of young puppet makers”
Louise, Arts Programmer at MakesTheSunShine, 2019

Regularly booked for family events, primary and secondary schools, Amy offers several new immersive Shadow Puppet Performances including Mexican Day Of The Dead, Mayan Creation Story, Fisherman And The Genie, Alice In Wonderland. They are often accompanied by marvelous puppet making and storytelling workshops.

“Tallulah Swirls is fantastic…I’m a real fan!”
Hugh Fearnley- Whittingstall, River Cottage Festival, Dorset

“We all loved the shows…laughed so much and have been visually inspired. I never thought
that both adults and children could get equal enjoyment out of a puppet theatre.”
Rachel Griffin, illustrator/parent, Childrens World Festival, Bristol

“A sparkling performance in every way – superb visually, great sound effects and the range of characters and voices was breathtaking, especially for a one woman show!”
Kathleen Smith, Topping & Company Booksellers Of Bath, ‘Events Organizer Of The Year’

“Tallulah Swirls brought a playful and handmade energy to the puppet theatre for our area at Camp Bestival… The shows delivered powerful messages through fun and laughter. Amy and her team were a delight to work with and would be invited back whenever possible.”
Deborah Curtis, Director, House Of Fairy Tales: Child-centered, artist led project set up by artists Deborah Curtis & Gavin Turk
